Chemical geodynamics in the Tethyan realm

 

本集成项目拟以汇聚板块边缘化学地球动力学为主线,聚焦特提斯构造域出露的不同类型和成分的变质岩和岩浆岩在岩石地球化学方面的研究成果,不仅考虑不同时代特提斯构造域在不同热梯度下形成的变质岩,而且考虑不同时代大陆裂解和大洋俯冲形成的岩浆岩。本集成项目将综合考虑这些不同时代、不同类型的变质岩和岩浆岩,厘定它们的形成和演化与超大陆裂解/汇聚之间的关系,关注古大洋俯冲带受到大陆碰撞及碰撞后过程的叠加改造,探索变质作用和岩浆作用在时间和空间上呈现显著不均一性的原因,为特提斯地球动力学总结提供系统证据和约束。因此, 本集成项目将设计一个板块构造框架,不仅要完全概括总结这个重大研究计划中已批准和将批准的所有涉及变质岩和岩浆岩项目的成果,而且要尽量概括总结他人在国内外刊物上发表的成果,并且整合所有成果,最终实现建立先进的特提斯体系化学地球动力学模型。

This integrated project will proceed within the chemical geodynamics of convergent plate boundaries and focus on petrological and geochemical results available from different types and compositions of metamorphic and magmatic rocks in the Tethyan realm. These results will be screened by examining the changes of structure and composition with respect to the temporal and spatial evolution of subduction zones and orogenic belts. Integration will be operated by considering not only metamorphic rocks produced at different thermal gradients but also magmatic rocks generated at different ages during continental breakup and oceanic subduction. The all metamorphic and magmatic rocks will be examined by their petrology and geochemistry against their generations and types. Their formation and evolution will be linked to breakup and assembly of continents in the Tethyan realm. In doing so, sufficient attention will be paid to metamorphic superimposition during continental collision and post-collisional reworking, which may be a basic cause for physical and chemical heterogeneities of these rocks in both time and space. All of the results will be used to provide evidence for and constraints on the generalization of Tethyan geodynamics. Therefore, a framework of plate tectonics will be designed to outline the results from all of the completed, ongoing and future projects in the Major Research Project “Tethyan Geodynamics System”. The all results will be inspected and integrated to establish an advance model of chemical geodynamics for the Tethyan realm.

(1) 特提斯构造域不仅出露不同热梯度下形成的变质岩,而且发育不同时代大陆裂解和大洋俯冲形成的岩浆岩。本集成项目将综合考虑这些不同时代、不同类型的变质岩和岩浆岩,厘定它们的形成和演化与超大陆裂解/汇聚之间的关系,关注古大洋俯冲带受到大陆碰撞及碰撞后过程的叠加改造,探索变质作用和岩浆作用在时间和空间上呈现显著不均一性的原因,为特提斯地球动力学总结提供系统证据和约束;

(2) 本集成项目将设计一个板块构造框架,不仅要完全概括总结这个重大研究计划中已批准和将批准的所有涉及变质岩和岩浆岩项目的重要成果,而且要尽量概括总结他人在国内外刊物上发表的重要成果,并且整合所有成果,最终实现建立先进的特提斯体系化学地球动力学模型的目标;

(3) 板块构造理论是二十世纪地球科学最伟大的成就,汇聚板块边缘是地壳与地幔物质和能量交换的重要场所,俯冲带和造山带物质的再循环和再造一直是地球科学的前沿和热点研究领域,因此争议也最大。前人对现代大洋俯冲带物质再循环进行了大量研究,但是对古俯冲带物质再循环和造山带物质再造还存在许多认识上的不一致。特提斯构造域既经历了先前洋壳俯冲,也经历了随后陆壳俯冲,综合集成在这个构造域获得的成果将对发展板块构造理论提供潜在证据和制约。
